2025 Skyrunning European Championships

July 3-5, 2025 – Corteno Golgi and Aprica, Italy

The twelfth edition of the Skyrunning European Championships will take place in Corteno Golgi and Aprica, Italy on July 3 – 5, 2025.

Three disciplines will be disputed: VERTICAL, SKY and SKYULTRA.

27 medals are at stake for individual, team and combined titles.

 

July 3 – VERTICAL – Aprica Ski resort. Updating

July 5 – SKYULTRA – SkyMarathon (Maratona del Cielo), 42 km long with 2,700m vertical climb

July 5 – SKY – Half SkyMarathon – 23 km long with 1,864m vertical climb

Regulations

  • The event is open. Only National Teams will be ranked
  • All the participants must be selected by their National Member
  • Every National Member can select a maximum of six participants per discipline with maximum four athletes of the same gender. Possible maximum distributions are: 4M+2W or 3M+3W or 2M+4W
    The maximum number of athletes per team is 18
  • Organisers must host a minimum of two athletes (on a B&B basis) for every official country represented

Details

  1. National teams must communicate their official participation and the number of athletes divided by category by May 4, 2025.
  2. National teams must communicate the names of the athletes by June 4, 2025.
  3. Each Official National Team will receive two free entries and two complimentary B&B accommodation from (check in July 3 – check out July 6).
  4. The VERTICAL race will be held on Thursday, July 3 with a mass start.
  5. The SKYULTRA race will be held on Saturday, July 5 with a mass start.
  6. The SKY race will be held on Saturday, July 5 with a mass start.
  7. Medals (gold, silver and bronze) will be awarded to the top three ranked women and men for each discipline and for the Combined title (based on the sum of  the VERTICAL + SKY).
  8. A Team Ranking will be elaborated based on the individual points accrued by the top four athletes – at least one per gender – in each discipline.
  9. Other information regarding opening and closing ceremonies, doping controls, pasta parties and other activities will be communicated at a later date.

FISky – Federazione Italiana Skyrunning, the ISF member for Italy, will sanction the event and oversee it with their referees.

WADA anti-doping tests will be carried out at the Championships.
